What is Experimental Photography?
Experimental photography generally means exploring photographic ideas beyond the traditional darkroom and digital photographic process. This term will push your creative and conceptual ideas and really get you to think about how to utilize photography in new an unique ways. Here is a website that showcases student experimental projects Spring Term (9 weeks) EXPERIMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY MAP OUT Week 1 The ORIGINAL PHOTOSHOP--the darkroom! ` Double Exposures presentation Double exposure demo Begin printing your double exposures Week 2 Double exposures continued Finish 2-3 final double exposures Critique at the end of the week on prints Week 3 Back in the swing of film! What is toning? Shoot & develop a roll to be toned Week 4 Toning prints Sepia Toning Solarizing Prints Week 5 Sun Prints Spring is here! Cyanotype time! Week 6 The Digital Negative Creating negatives in photoshop Manipulate negatives Contact printing cyanotypes with negatives and mixed media. Week 7 & 8 FINAL PROJECT! You have 2 weeks to shoot & print your final project This will be a topic of your choice based off of what you enjoyed doing most this year. MONDAY MAY 23 FINAL CRITIQUE Your work must be completed and prepared for presentation on this day. NO EXTENSIONS.
